The Australian Red Cross is divided into eight seperate entities: New South Wales, Northern Territories, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and ACT (Australian Capital Territories.) The Australian Red Cross plays an important role in international relief, particularly - though not limited to - the Asia-Pacific region.

The international operations of the Australian Red Cross include vital placement of personnel and other resources, bringing aid to victims of armed conflict and natural disasters, as well as assisting the development of National Red Cross Societies. For instance, Australian Red Cross doctors and nurses recently worked in such areas as Rwanda, Afghanistan and the former Yugoslavia.

The Australian Red Cross also supports other Red Cross or Red Crescent Societies. The Australian Red Cross assisted the Papua New Guinea Red Cross with the local Blood Bank and first aid training. The Australian Red Cross also manages its own projects in China, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Israel and the occupied territories. Many of these projects focus on educating the people about communicable diseases, community health services, water, sanitation and disaster prevention.

Now, the Australian Red Cross - whose efforts are witnessed around the globe - is honoured with a handsome die-cast recreation of Australia's most famous vehicle, the Holden. This precision-engineered model is marked with the official graphics of the Australian Red Cross and is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. your Australian Field Service Ambulance 1955 Holden FJ Van is produced by - and available only from - Matchbox Collectibles.
